"Bullnose Skinner"3 3/4" blade, 115/16" tall, 8" overall, 1/4" thick fully heat treated and tempered 5160 high carbon spring steel. This is a beautiful little companion hunting knife. Razor sharp and ready for a lifetime of faithful service. Handmade by me paper micarta scales with hollow handle pins. I can make a nice kydex sheath for this blade upon request. If you have any questions about this knife or any others I make please ask. I make each blade fully expecting the user to actually use the knife. The best way to start this review is to tell you a little bit about myself to hopefully help my credibility. I started “collecting” knives when I was 8. I was digging through my grandfather’s tool box and came across an old Kabar that looked like it had been dragged 8 miles down a gravel road. Its back story was unknown and I was instantly hooked. Unfortunately, I was informed I was not near old enough to own this hunk of steel and leather. I would have to grown up to the ripe old age of 12 before it could be mine. Starting that day and ever since I have loved knives and over the years I learned to appreciate the value of a truly good knife. nA truly good knife does not begin to describe what Ben has created for me. It is both functional and beyond beautiful. It has the heft of a quality piece with the beauty of something that could never come off a production line. As someone who has never spent a dime on a blade without fist being able to handle it, this was actually way outside my comfort zone. I could tell a lot from the pictures of his other projects, but the brief email conversations I had with Ben really let me know I could trust him. nThe blade is 1/4” tempered steel with amazing dark earth micarta stocks. At the 11th hour I asked if he could do a Japanese style Hamon temper line with his proprietary bluing process on the blade. I really don’t think either of us expected it to come out as well as it did. This knife instantly went from being a gamble, to being by far the best value in my collection. If you have ever been fortunate enough to catch an amazing band in a small local venue before they made it big you have a small idea what I am feeling right now. nI can tell you with 100% honestly that this knife was worth every penny and far more. I plan on commissioning another as soon as I am able. His skills are in demand, but he still treats you like you are his only client.
